Association of Cabin Owners in Island Park, Idaho
Centennial Shores HOA is a private association of cabin owners with year-round access in a gated community. It is conveniently located on the northwest shore of Island Park Reservoir in the greater Island Park area in Fremont County, Idaho. Centennial Shores is 30 minutes south of the west entrance to Yellowstone National Park and 20 minutes north of Harriman State Park. The HOA provides unparalleled access to fabulous summer (fishing, boating, hiking, horseback riding) and winter (snowmobiling, skiing, skating) activities.
HOA FIREWORKS AND FIRE REGULATIONS NOTICE
As we approach the Fourth of July holiday and our nation’s 250th anniversary, we ask everyone to remember that the Centennial Shores HOA CC&Rs prohibit the use of fireworks anywhere within the subdivision. This restriction has been posted in the subdivision for years. It exists for one important reason—to protect our community. The Board will actively enforce the existing fireworks prohibitions.
For the same reason, the HOA does not allow open burning. All fires must be only in fire pits that meet the definition in Fremont County Ordinance No. 2017-02. This is an “excavation of approximately 16 inches in depth in the ground, surrounded with rocks, stone, bricks, or other nonflammable objects that protrude at least 6 inches above the undisturbed ground level. Any fire pit must also have a 10-foot diameter of cleared space around said fire pit that is free of combustible materials (typically graveled or bare dirt) along with a shovel for the purpose of fire suppression or extinguishing said fire.”
Fines for unauthorized fireworks and/open burning may be up to $10,000 depending on the severity of the infraction as determined by the HOA Board.
Property owners are responsible for ensuring compliance by their family members, guests, and renters. Property owners are specifically responsible for notifying others (e.g. renters) of these requirements. Property owners will be held responsible for the fines as listed above and other potential consequences, such as liens, that may occur if the fines are not paid. In addition, anyone whose actions cause a fire may in principle be subject to civil liability and other legal consequences for resulting damages.
